VIVA A BOSSA NOVA!!!

This time I'll quote one of the large movements that happened on the scene of the Brazilian music: The New Bossa and the Tropicalism.

The New Bossa appeared in the end of the 50's, beggining of the 60's, and it was the great start for Brazilian music, to fly away around the world.

The Tropicalism came up on the scene shortly after, in the end of the 60's, beggining of the 70's with the AI5, an inconstitucional act imposed by the goverment, which consisted in to give more privileges and powers to the President of the Republic, and at the same time, suspended a large numbers of constitucionals garantees, it was the Dictatorship.

I had three amaysing experiences with our Bossa...
One in Paris, on 'Pigalle' neighborhood, where I had bought a guitar by a 'Luthier'(person that constructs handmade an instrument) very famous there, and I start to play my guitar with "Corcovado"(Tom Jobim), and whem I looked up my head, I could see a great number of Frenchs asking for 100000 more rsrsrs...

The second one was in New York, on the famous neighborhood of 'Village, where my OMB Porfolio (Brazilian Order of Musicians)had more values than my passport, well... I came to the 'Blue Note' to see 'Rosa Passos' show, whem I suddenly had being called to play just for a little while, and as soon as possible the manager came to me, reminding me that I had played there in 1987, what a fabulous memory, and I dare to say that it's not because I'm a musician, but a Brazilian one.

The third experience was to play every thursday on the ONU's building in Manhattan, N.Y., it was always a party for the hole team of officials there.
NEW BOSSA FOREVER!

The phonograph market is the one who makes us to like what we use to listen to,  cause they have the power of to manipulate the people with the hole midia sistem, such as televisions or radios... Nowadays, we can understand this process very well, whem we see a 'single artist' or a band, we just can feel, what is 'prefabricated' from what has a root...

In the 90's, the phonographic market, feeling a great down that was about to come, began to produce 'salable products' investing all they could do (commissioned musics, specials ways of maners, beauty profiles, fanclubs besides some others things), and they criated a sector to some special products just for this reason. Publicities in Record cover or Cd’s was the first hope to get some sponsors and stop this strangling situation. The contracts was getting each time more and more 'one side' (Which is good just for the Record Label), which decides to get theirs investments to garantee any oscilation of the product.

Nowadays, the famous 'artists' get the option to produce theirself independently, using the big multinacionals brands just to distribute, working togethere with the internet, that comes to help the fans from the radios to get their wishes, and not to have just what the industry had  proposed to them.
In the end of the 80's, the EMI commissioned a group called Wanna, in which I was there, pure market.

I feel and I see that, the market will became more and more opened to new products with the democratization of the mídias, and with the opened of some web rádios, and  softwares for the musitian produce themselfs at home (home  studio), besides others tools. Now, the musitian can produce theirs own job and also negotiate, in the way they like must.

Whem we talk about England music, come to our minds: "The Beatles", "Phil Collins", "Elton John", "Whitesnake", "Simple Red", and some others giant Englands; But I decided to appraise "Lisa Stansfield", which one I had the pleasure of to share the same event (Rock in Rio II in 1991). A woman with 1.60 cm of height, but in the stage, she seems to be 10 meters, full of security herself,Lisa has total domain on the stage. A truth Diva from Britsh music.
In a fast conversation with her on the backstage, I could feel her shyness, and that in every moment she asked for support to her bass guitar men, a groove bass who doesn't seems to be a London guy, but a New Yorker by 'Bronx'.
Lisa Jane Stansfield borned in Manchester, England, by the time at 60's. The music was always presented in her life, cause her mother used to listen to: Diana Ross, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye and Barry White.
Owner of a sexy voice and a black timbre (feature from soul music, a style music from The American Baptist Churches), Lisa is so differentfrom everythingthat England used to show to us.
She began to shine in the album 'Affection', which had sold 4.5 milions of copies; One of the reasons was the music 'All around the world' (recorded with Barry White in 1992); She also assured some great prizes, as the best song and the best revelation artist, like The Brit Award.
Lisa accumulated 10 milions of sold albuns around the world in 10 years of a magnificent carrear, I keep myself wondering if Lisa, being produced by Quincy Jones, would not be the master of American Pop music .

instituição, louva a iniciativa:
"Acho excelente.

I got to me that, one of the best notices I've ever read about is . . .

"DJ is a musician?
It's far from to be unanimous the decision of the Berklee College of Music, one of the most important
school musics in  the hole world, to include DJs classes
on the curriculum."

We should take of the idea that the Dj isn't a musician, cause they plus not just for the hip hop, but to MPB, too ... There are so many "artists"working with then in theirs bands. One of the best productions, that I've already listen to, instead today on the pop scene, had been done by Dj Memê on Lulu Santos' CD; And with this production, he get for the first time a golden album by BMG Ariola in 1995 ( Eu e Memê, Memê e eu).

"I got lots of experiences by playing in bands with DJs, and it's really makes some difference, cause, to me, the pick up's complets the hole arrangements to the sound. "
Gito Sales.

To Claudia Assef, jornalist and author to the book:"Todo DJ já sambou", there are some informal teachers
about this subject, but the great new about it, is that finaly there's a prestige college like Berklee that admited the DJ as an art, so worthy to be studie: "Stephen proves that to play a disco is not a silly thing".

Ex-studants of the Berklee Univercity, as Quincy Jones, Diana
Krall and Branford Marsalis, get a total of 99 Grammys. Brazil
is one of the fifths countries, witch presence is so marcable on this area in the faculty. A Brazilian singer, Jair Oliveira, graduated in this subject area in a institution,
praises for this initiative:
"It's so wonderfull! The DJ's not a marginal any longer, lots of then became pop stars
on the musical planet".

OBS: Just to reforce the idea, I began my carrear as a model when I was 4 years old, and since then, I realized that DJ's job is so necessary, cause without then the Fashion Shows would not be the same, as we know just now bands are being used in the runaways and Fashion events like "Oi Fashion Rocks."

Dj Zé Pedro is the best pick up pilot on Brazilian Catwalks as all over the world.
